This is Special Counsel, Jack Smith. This picture was taken in 2017. he just looks like a run of the mill lawyer, in this image. I love his bearded, eyes staring menacingly picture where he looks like an angry badger ready to get his claws on his victim. In this case, the victim is Donald trump, and, ever since Smith has been appointed Special Counsel he has been relentless in pursuing Trump.
Let us remember that Trump is facing legal consequences from a number of sides, including the ‘hush money’ case in New York, the ‘perfect call/fake electors’ case in Georgia and Jack Smith’s own pursuit on January 6. Major breakthroughs have already happened there with members of both the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys being charged with Seditious Conspiracy. Let us also not forget Trump’s ‘human?’ side where he was found liable for sexual assault on defamation as a result of the E. Jean Carroll trial. Sucks to be Donnie.
Jack Smith has two prongs to address. One is the January 6 insurrection, the other is Mar-a-Lago files. Trump has been lying about his power to declassify documents ever since this issue came up. In his CNN Town Hall last week in front of a Trump audience he said,
“By the way, they become automatically declassified when I took them.”
But they Donnie. You know that, and, of greater importance, you knew that when you took the documents. The National Archives are planning to hand over to Jack Smith 16 documents showing that knew the correct process for declassifying documents. Trump’s team is fighting vigorously for these documents not to be provided to Smith. On May 16, acting Archivist, Debra Steidel Wall, sent Trump a letter which included the following,
“The 16 records in question all reflect communications involving close presidential advisers, some of them directed to you personally, concerning whether, why, and how you should declassify certain classified records.”
Now that is pretty clear cut. Ty Cobb, one of Trump’s previous lawyers stated the following repercussions for Trump,
“I think this is ‘i’ dotting and ‘t’ crossing. I think that this case is ready to go The simple fact is there is a process … and (Trump) totally ignored that and believes that the mere fact he took them declassifies (the documents). That is not the law.
To steal from Pink Floyd, this is just another brick in the wall. For goodness sakes I hope the final downfall of Trump is going to start, like, right now.
