Donald Trump won the New Hampshire primary the other night. Instead of celebrating, Trump was seething because Nikki Haley got 43% of the vote and refused to drop out. For Trump, she is no longer a gnat but an enemy to be destroyed.
Since then, Trump has said that any Haley donors will be ostracized and is behind the push to have the Republican National Committee coronate him as the Republican nominee, after only two primaries.
A while back the Republicans and Democrats had put together a bipartisan infrastructure bill. Trump demanded that the Republicans not pass the bill. Passing the bill would be a big victory for Biden. A number of Republicans defied Trump and the bill was passed. Trump called those who defied him, traitors
Republicans, in the Senate, are now working with Democrats to secure substantial funding and tools to address the crisis on the Southern border. Passing this would also result in funding being freed up to support Ukraine and Israel.
Trump is vehemently opposed. His opposition is such that Mitch McConnell admitted that the border issue with not be resolved even though McConnell desperately wants it resolved. Mitt Romney put it best,
“I think the border is a very important issue for Donald Trump. And the fact that he would communicate to Republican senators and congresspeople that he doesn’t want us to solve the border problem because he wants to blame Biden for it is … really appalling.”
Romney is right. Bottom line is that Trump is an evil person. Democrats have to seize and publicize this and other issues as much as possible. The media better start doing their job too.
