Just like that, the season is over. But what a wonderful ride. Back in 2021, the Lions were in shambles. Patricia and Quinn had tried their Patriot way and destroyed the team in doing so. The Lions brought in Holmes and “bite your kneecaps” Campbell. Campbell reflected the City of Detroit, with his style. Holmes seemed to make every draft pick count. Holmes was mocked for the selections he made. Yet he kept making them and the picks kept paying off. Last year they began the season at 1-6. Holmes traded away Hockenson. A throw in the towel assumption. Instead they went on an 8-2 run, almost making the playoffs and knocking Green Bay out of the playoffs in their home field
This year two playoff wins. This is a young talented team. With Holmes and Campbell, the Lions will be Super Bowl relevant for years to come. Many years ago, the Pittsburg Steelers were the league laughingstock. They hired Chuck Knox as coach and the rest is history.
So no tears. The future is bright.
