This is Brian Butler. He was a longtime employee at Mar-a-Lago. He is also ‘Trump Employee Number 5’ in Trump’s classified documents case. He has already testified to the Special Counsel on this case. He just gave an interview to CNN.
His words would appear to put another nail in Trump’s coffin.
Butler describes loading boxes on Trump’s plane as the FBI was coming to search for documents at Mar-a-Lago.
“Icome to realize now at the same time he’s going in there, the boxes are going from somewhere into a vehicle, which are eventually going to the plane, which I load with Walt,”
Butler recalled a conversation he had with another Trump employee who was involved with the hiding of documents.
“There was one time, he said, ‘You know, we’re all dirty. We all moved boxes.’ And I said, ‘Well, look, I didn’t even know what I was moving until I was at the plane, and that’s when I remember moving boxes.’”
Remember Cassidy Hutchinson was initially pressured to use a Trump lawyer? She did initially, but then switched lawyers. The same pressure was applied on Butler. But he had gotten his own lawyer first.
This is a conversation he had with another Trump employee.
“I think it’s better to look after yourself and take care of it yourself. You know, even the voicemail by the attorney that called me, you know, he says, “I’m representing former President Trump.’ Well, that does me no good. You’re representing him, not me. I mean, I wouldn’t even consider that.”
Just to add, Butler was a 20 year employee if Trump, with no apparent axe to grind. This trial has to happen.
