Screw You Marge

Well, Marjorie Taylor Greene finally came through with the threat to put motion to oust speaker Johnson. As she put this motion on the floor, she was roundly booed by both Democrats and Republicans. The motion lost by a count of 359 to 43. Only 10 Republicans supported her in the motion while 196 Republicans voted against. This is a huge slap in the face to Greene. Not only due to the lack of support from her Republican colleagues, but I also being booed by her colleagues.

Green has tried to place herself as an influential voice in the Republican led Congress. She also believed that she was reading the pulse of the American public in putting this motion forward She bombed out on both. Given that she comes from a deep red district in Georgia, her chances are good of being reelected to Congress. However, her hopes of being a major power broker in the Republican Party was most likely dashed yesterday.

Many? including those in her own party, probably believe that she deserves this fate.
