Donald Trump has been goading Joe Biden for a while to debate with him. Trump probably thought that Biden would not take the bait. Biden, however, went Dirty Harry, on Trump, and said ‘make my day’.
As a result, there will be two debates with the first one being. in Atlanta, on CNN, on June 27. One of the key conditions of this debate will be the fact that there will be no live television audience.
Even though the debates were announced yesterday pro Trump social media sites are already claiming that the debates are rigged. Of course they did.
There are two schools of thought as to whether Trump will actually participate in these debates
On one side, there is a belief that Trump will not participate. One reason given is that Biden clearly won the two debates, four years ago. another reason given is that Trump did not participate in any of the Republican primary debate this year. Trump has a history of backing down on promises made. For example, he said he would testify in the hush money trial. We all know that’s not gonna happen. The final reason is that Trump is well aware of his ‘cofefve’ moments on stage like garbling up sentences, mixing up Jimmy Connors for Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama for Joe Biden, let alone Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi. Trump is going senile right in front of our eyes.
On the other side, Trump is living his own isolated Republican bubble. Trump is continually being told by his supporters that he is knocking the ball out of the park in every speech. He may honestly believe he is at the top of his game. Trump also hates Biden almost as much as he hates Obama. Also, let us not forget Trump’s enormous ego.
Just like anything else in the 24 hour new cycle, these days, I’m sure this will be debated day by day until the actual event happens, if it happens.
