Still recovering from watching whatever that was with Trump a couple days ago. I also saw a bit of Harris’ economic speech yesterday.
The contrast is amazing. Harris actually spelt out a platform for middle and lower income Americans. She was talking about kitchen table issues. She spoke about it in a way that it related to Americans concerned about kitchen table issues. A primary reason for this is she was brought up in such an environment. She did not live in a pampered environment. She had to work her way to where she is today. She showed an appreciation for what Americans are going through and she proposed solutions, to address those issues.
Donald Trump was raised in a very pampered environment and that his family was very well off. He never had to worry about money. He got his way all the time. he got deferments five times from the draft due to his imaginary bone spurs. he cannot relate to or lower income Americans. according to him, you need to provide a photo ID to get groceries. According to him, Cheerios cost $100. He is so out of touch with reality to begin with, but he’s also out of touch with the ongoing issues of middle and lower income Americans.
Harris, yesterday, stayed on issue. Trump, even with cheat sheets in front of them, was rambling throughout an hour of tortured viewing.
One month ago, it looked like Trump would win by a landslide. A week before the Democrat convention and Harris is already leading in a number of states including the vital swing states. The next big linchpin point will be the September 10 debate. The likelihood is high that Harris will do the Trump what Trump did to Biden in the first debate. Bring popcorn.
