Kamala Harris finally had her long awaited interview on CNN, withDana Bash. She handled herself quite well. One response in particular stood out. Harris was asked about Trump‘s comment that Harris was exploiting the fact that she is Black. she gave a quick and short response ‘old, tired playbook – next question please’.
Back in 2016, when Trump ran for president the first time, and won, Democrats would go nuts every time Trump made an outlandish statement. This played right into Trump’s hands. He always loved being the centre of attention. Harris and the Democrats have learned their lesson from 2016. It has been Harris who has been the attention grabber this time around. The outlandish comments that Trump is making this time, are simply being downplayed. As Harris mentioned, during the democrat convention, Trump is not a serious person. The strategy is working. Trump is getting more flustered by the day. he is continually being off message and is now flip-flopping on issues. He cannot stand the fact that Harris remains the centre of attention. Furthermore, the media finally are starting to ask hard questions about Trump rather than treat him with kid gloves. He does not like that either.
The next big event is the debate on September 10. All indications are it will not go well for Trump at all.
