Ann Teinaes is a Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist. She was with the Washington Post since 2008. I say was because she just resigned from the Washington Post. She resigned because the Washington Post would not allow this cartoon to be posted in their newspaper.
“I have had editorial feedback and productive conversations—and some differences—about cartoons I have submitted for publication, but in all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at. Until now.”
Her message in drawing this cartoon, was that the cartoon,
“criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump,” satirizing “these men with lucrative government contracts and an interest in eliminating regulations making their way to Mar-a-lago.”
She calls the Post’s refusal to print the cartoon a,
“game changer…and dangerous for a free press.”
this is very scary stuff. It is basically censorship of a free press. The Putinization of America is happening in front of our eyes right now. Donald Trump is not even president yet, but this is happening. This is going to get worse before it gets better. It’s going to get far worse.
That’s all I have for today.
