Pierre Poiluevre (PP) must be tearing his hair out. He’s gone from potentially forming a majority government to looking at the liberals doing the same. Every day it seems more bad news for him. He has long been associated with Donald Trump like policies. He has been using similar phrases such as common sense solutions and Canada is broken where Trump would say America is broken.
Earlier this week, the security clearance issue came back to haunt him. Now, it is Danielle Smith going to Florida for a fundraiser hosted by right wing influencer Ben Shapiro. Shapiro agrees with Trump in that Canada should become a 51st state.
This is on the heels of Danielle’s interview on the Breitbart podcast,
“‘I would hope that we could put things on pause, is what I’ve told administration officials: ‘Let’s just put things on pause so we can get through an election. Let’s have the best person at the table make the argument for how they would deal with that,’ and I think that’s Pierre Poilievre.”
Smith also sent a list of demands to the liberals last week that had to be accepted or else a unity issue would come up.
On the other end of the scale, we have conservative premier, Doug Ford, teaming up with Mark Carney, pushing for a united team Canada approach against Trump’s latest round of tariffs. All PP can do is continue to watch his polling numbers, crash and burn. it must seem to him that any luck he is having is all bad luck. He is probably calling Danielle Smith, and saying please stop helping me.
