Live By The Sword

Charlie Kirk made the following quotes.

“We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.”

“I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made up new age term that does a lot of damage.”

“It’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.”

Based on his own words, should Kirk receive any empathy? Based on his own words is his gun death worth it to protect the second amendment?

Kirk leaves behind a wife and two kids. Kirk was a father. George Floyd was a father. Kirk called Floyd a scumbag.

On the very same day that Kirk was assassinated, and it was an assassination, there was another shooting in high school in Colorado. Three kids were injured. Fortunately no one died. There have been 47 school shootings in the US this year. For those who died in those shootings, were theirgun deaths worth it?

Minnesota congresswoman Melissa Hortman was assassinated two months ago. Was there outrage from Republican leaders after that assassination? No there was not. Were flags lowered at half mast in mourning of her death? No, they were not. Yet Donald Trump order flags to be lowered to half mast after Kirk’s death. Donald Trump is blaming the radical left for yesterday’s assassination. Did he do the same after the Melissa Hortman assassination? No he did not blame the radical right.

Leading Democrats condemned the assassination yesterday. Do you remember what Donald Trump Junior did after Paul Pelosi was nearly bludgeon to death in his own home? He posted a meme of a hammer over underpants.

The assassination, yesterday was a terrible thing. The radical right is already calling for civil war. The assassin has not been caught yet. He or she may never will. This has the makings of a professional hit. A sniper from 200 yards away killed Kirk.

Based on Kirk’s last two quotes above, should we have the empathy to offer thoughts and prayers? Rather, publish as Donald Trump would say, let’s just move on.

That is all I have for today.
