Tale Of Two Networks

A guest analyst and a network commentator said controversial things over the last week. One of them was let go. The other still has his job

Matt Dowd is a guest analyst on MSNBC. He was on the Katy Tur show when the Charlie Kirk assassination was unfolding. Dowd said the following, at that time

Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place.”

Dowd went on to add,

“We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So we have no idea about this.”

MSNBC fired Dowd, saying that his comments were inappropriate and unacceptable.

Brian Kilmeade, is a host on Fox entertainment, otherwise known as Fox News. There was a segment on Fox, during Fox & Friends, where the discussion was mentally ill people who are homeless. This followed the murder of a Ukrainian refugee on a train by a mentally ill homeless person. During the discussion, Brian Kilmeade said the following,

“Or involuntary lethal injection or something — just kill ‘em.”

He did apologize for his statement the next day. But he is still on Fox. Someone else did follow through on what Brian Kilmeade suggested. That was Adolf Hitler.

It boggles my mind to see that Matt Dowd was let go while Brian Kilmeade is still on the air. That tells you a lot about Fox News.

All I have for today.
