In the NFL, the last player picked in the draft is hung with the nickname, Mr. Irrelevant. On the world stage, Donald Trump will soon be hung with the same monicker, if he hasn’t already.
A number of glaring examples. The US did not want Israel to launch ground assault on Gaza city. They did anyway.
A few months ago, when it appeared that Trump was trying to force Ukraine into a surrender by abandoning it, NATO countries stepped in, ensuring that Ukraine would not be alone. Trump soon changed his tune.
When Trump met with Putin in Alaska, Putin followed up the next day by launching the largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the invasion began. Since then, Trump has threatened Russia with sanctions and other forms of punishment, but has that nothing else other than just threats. Trump’s role has been so minimal that even though Russia is blatantly ignoring him and continuing to try to pummel Ukraine, Trump comes out with the following statement,
“He’s going to have to make a deal. Zelenskyy is going to have to make a deal.”
Like, holy WTF Batman, Trump is saying that Ukraine, after being invaded and after suffering Russia’s atrocities, has to make the deal?
Sooner or later, a relevant adult has to step into the room, because it sure is not Trump.
