Not Easy Being Greene

“I’m carving my own lane. And I’m absolutely disgusted that health insurance premiums will DOUBLE if the tax credits expire this year.”

Upon reading this quote, one would think it was made by a Democrat.

“Not a single Republican in leadership talked to us about this or has given us a plan to help Americans deal with their health insurance premiums DOUBLING!!!”

Given the image above, you can surmise that the quote was actually made by Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG). Her quote has sent ripples of unease, through the Republican Party, as the funding shut down continues on to its second week. Democrats meanwhile, are jumping for joy, as per Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader.

“I think this is the first time I’ve said this: Rep. Greene said it perfectly. Rep. Greene is absolutely right.”

Donald Trump has, for years, tried to tear down the Obama legacy. This includes his constant attack on Obama care. What he blindly fails to see is that Obama care has become popular in America. A poll taken last week shows at 78% of Americans support, extending subsidies for Obama care, as well as 58 % of Republicans.

Trump is trying to up the ante in his funding shutdown fight. He is saying outrageous things like federal workers don’t deserve backpay and this is a great time to layoff thousands of federal workers. Trump is trying to bully Democrats into backing down. The thing is events are conspiring against him. Soon, hundreds if thousands of federal workers will not get their first paycheck. This includes military personnel. As well, flights are being delayed and will soon be canceled, if not already happening because air traffic controllers are calling in sick.

Trump’s position is getting more tenuous by the day. However, as we all know, it is not in him to back down. So there will be at least a few more days of suffering. The media campaigns of both the Democrats and Republicans are raging on. But Marjorie Taylor Greene just threw a big wrench into the Republican campaign.

That’s all I have for today.
