In Sheep’s Clothing

Danielle Smith signed the MOU, last week, with Mark Carney. She was all set to do a victory, lap, over the weekend, at the UCP annual convention, in Edmonton.

She had a speech, Friday night, and addressed a number UCP red meat issues, before finally getting around to the MOU. She asked the crowd do you feel better about Canada now than you did a couple days ago? The crowd booed, loudly. Danielle looked shocked at the response.

Following her speech, there was a question and answer session. The question that got the largest applause, in fact a standing ovation, was asked by. Jeffrey Raff, leader of the Alberta separatist movement.

That so called MOU was signed yesterday, the ink wasn’t dry on the paper and Mark Carney went out and gleefully announced a 600 per cent increase to the industrial carbon tax in Alberta. My question for the room is how many of all of us favour a free and independent Alberta.”

Smith could only reply, after the applause died down, that she prefers a sovereign Alberta, in Canada, whatever that means. Over the weekend, a number of top party positions were filled. These positions were primarily filled by members of the separatist movement.

To put it simply, Danielle Smith started dancing with the devil, and the devil is taking the lead. The UCP party, no longer represents conservatives in Alberta, rather, the UCP is now the torch bearer for the separatist movement. The party is starting to parallel, Jacques Parizeau’s, Parti Québécois, of the 1990s, which brought Quebec to the brink of separation, from Canada

In the next provincial election, the NDP, will make sure that the UCP own the separatist movement. Polls show that 70% of Albertans want to stay in Canada. This very issue, may result in the NDP being the next governing party in Alberta.

That’s all I have for today.
