There was a special election for a state Senate seat, in Texas, last Saturday. Texas is a reliable red state which has shown signs of turning a bit purple. Donald Trump, in the federal election, in 2024, won this district by 17 points. So this should’ve been an easy win for Texas state Republicans. Funny thing happened though. The democrat candidate won by 14 points. This represented a 31 point turn around in that district.
To put it mildly, this sent shock waves through the Trump administration. The midterms are coming up this November. The Republicans have a very slim majority in the House. There is a potential blue wave coming, similar to what happened in 2018. Donald Trump has already admitted publicly that if the Democrats win the house, he will likely be impeached, for a third time.
Trump, even before the Saturday result, was in panic mode. He was pushing for the redistricting of districts, in states, such as Texas, to gain an advantage. This has backfired on him with Republican states like Indiana, not buying into this and other states like California, redistricting to give more seats to the Democrats
Trump is now talking about nationalizing election processes in individual states. I can’t tell you what this means because Trump could not, himself, explain what this means.
Trump is trying to downplay the Texas result by saying that his name was not on the ballot. Well, Donald, in the midterms coming up this November your name won’t be on the ballot either. But your Republican brand will be. By the way, how is this whole ICE thing going for you?
Donald, there’s only one way for you to escape big losses in the November midterms. That is if you find some way to cancel the elections in November. I’m pretty sure this will be your next step. But that will backfire on you too, Donald.
That’s all I have for today.
