Just imagine how Danielle Smith and the UCP would’ve reacted if the forever Canada group illegally leaked out information on 2.9 million Alberta voters. The separatist group, the Centurion project did that recently. The database has since been taken down. The RCMP are investigating. Danielle Smith gave, after the fact. a tepid response and she is hoping let’s move on
Well, it has gotten a whole lot worse. Apparently there were two UCP staffers at a centurion project meeting, where David Parker, the leader of the separatist group, was giving a breakdown as to how to use this database that his group had illegally distributed to the public, at large. The two UCP staffers were Rob Smith, president of the UCP and Arundeep Sandhu, UCP caucus director. Not just any low level staffers I would think.
Parker, used former conservative premier Jason Kenney, as an example of how to use the illegally distributed database. Jason Kenney is not pleased with this, as all. Kenney will be retaining legal council, and stated that the distribution of his private information is outrageous and potentially dangerous. In addition, he said,
“Over the past few years I have received no shortage of threats from people broadly associated with the separatist/antivax/far right movement in Alberta.”
A UCP spokesperson, in defending the attendance of the two staffers, stated,
“At the time, the staff observing the meeting had no reason to believe the website in question was unlawful.”
Not a satisfactory answer at all. we are talking about the president of the UCP who was at the meeting. This brings into question, what did Danielle Smith know about this meeting and when did she know it?
This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
That’s all I have for today.
