They wanted the right of first refusal to our critical minerals. They wanted to change us to our Buy Canada policy. They wanted control over who we could make trade agreements with.
They did not come into this, wanting to negotiate a trade deal. They came into this wanting to take away our sovereignty.
Mark Carney, on Saturday, called this a war. It is it’s an attack on our Canadian identity. He was right on when he said the US makes deals that are written in pencil. Any deal that could’ve been made would’ve been changed soon after depending on Donald Trump‘s moods.
