With this size of majority, Trump is not just a lame duck, he is a dead duck. Now he has two choices. He can play along with the Democrats and try to improve the country and help the Republican Party. Or as he has promised, he can veto everything that comes up the line and destroy the Republican Party. Given how narcissistic he is I think we all know how this is gonna go.
Anyone associated with the Trump administration has no chance to run for presidency in 2028. That means you JD Vance and you, Marco Rubio.
Mike Johnson said he’s not running for Republican house leader. Two candidates have already put their hats in the ring. Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan. Things are changing. MAGA is done for. Do Republicans want to have two people so strongly associated with MAGA as their minority leader?
At the same time, for Democrats, do they want Chuck Schumer to be the Senate majority leader? The Democrat party of today is not the Democrat party of 10 or 15 or 20 years ago. Democrats have to think long and hard before choosing a Senate Majority Leader.
But for now it is duck hunting season.
