See The Difference

Two tales here. Donna Brazile has played many roles, including being a political analyst, strategist and campaign manager. She also served two terms as Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC)

In 2016 she was a CNN contributor, as well as being interim Chair for the DNC, following the resignation of Debbie Wasserman Shultz. In October of 2016, a Wikileaks dump revealed emails sent by Brazile to Democrat operatives, with advanced questions by audience members for Hilary Clinoton. This included questions that would be posed to Clinton at a town hall debate. Brazile, disgraced, resigned from CNN, on October 14. CNN gave out the following statement.

We are completely uncomfortable with what we have learned about her interactions with the Clinton campaign while she was a CNN contributor.”

Where did she go after that? She ended up being a FoxNews contributor, in 2019. Of course. She did put a two year stint at Fox before resigning and now, currently, is an ABC News contributor.

That is one tale. CNN found out about this and Brazile was gone. Then we have Rupert Murdoch and his media empire, including FoxNews. court filings recently released in the $1.6 billion law suit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, against FoxNews, revealed that Murdoch shared 2020 Joe Biden campaign strategy with Jared Kushner. Murdoch had shared Biden ads, that were to be shown, on FoxNews, top Kushner, prior to their release on air. So, Brazile resigns in disgrace following the release of advance information. Murdoch, head of his media empire simply provides advance information.

There is a silver lining though. Last Friday, Media Matters, an activist group, filed a lawsuit with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) claiming that Fox made an illegal campaign contribution to the Trump campaign by sharing the ads, in advance.

“(Fox’s) actions are not only an egregious violation of the (Federal Election Campaign) Act and the Commission’s regulations, but also a nefarious attempt by people in power to operate a press entity as a political organisation, in blatant disregard of the rules that govern our elections and democracy,”

That’s the other difference. CNN is a news organization. Fox is not.
