Gaza’s infrastructure is in total collapse. Hospitals are shutting down, people are dying. at least 10,000 Palestinians, many of them children, have died from 36 days of aerial bombardment sand now ground attacks. The population in Gaza cannot get out.
My parents were 16 when the Nazis attacked Poland. They went through six years of hell, until 1945. They did not talk much about the war. My dad had nightmares every night until he died.
The occupants of Gaza, regardless of age, will bear the scars of the last 36 days for the rest of their lives. Provided they survive. At the same time, the families of the 1,200-1,400 Israelis, who died, on October 7, and those who survived the attacks, will suffer the same consequences.
If you go on social media you will see emotional outbursts and justifications from both sides of this conflict. Israel wants to destroy Hamas given that Hamas’ goal is the destruction of Israel. Israel just might achieve it. Israel might destroy all the tunnels that Hamas uses as bases of attacks on Israel. But, for every Palestinian who dies, ten more w;ll be born vowing revenge on Israel.. Protests representing both sides of the conflict are exploding world-wide.
Somebody needs to step up NOW!. This needs a meeting of the minds between surrounding Arab States and pro-Israel allies. Maybe what is needed is for meetings that only include mothers who want the best for their children.
