Iranian funded proxy groups have launched 165 attacks on American forces since the Hamas attack on Israel, on October 7. Last week, three US service members were killed in a drone attack.

Joe Biden promised a response and came through with the promise by launching 80 strikes on seven locations, in Iraq and Syria. Biden indicates that more strikes will follow

Neither Iran or the US want a full on war. The Pentagon has indicated that, like the initial strike, sites within Iran will not be targeted. Iran will holler and shout but that is all they will do. All three countries Iran, Iraq and Syria are already warning that the strike may result in an expansion of the conflict, in the region.

I don’t think it will. Rather, what Biden did was a chess move. Iran, through its proxies made the first move. Biden responded. Iran is realizing that although the game has just started they may already be facing a checkmate situation.
