There are a lot of things going on next week. Lauren (let’s open up that zipper) Boebert, will most likely be primaried out, on Tuesday. I will have a pacemaker put in me on Tuesday. And two old codgers will most likely be making fools of themselves in the debate on Thursday.
But, of course, the big event will be game seven of the Stanley Cup final on Monday night. The Edmonton Oilers, after being down three games to none, will be playing game seven in Florida on Monday. Only two teams have lost the first three games of the final and made it to game seven. The Detroit Red Wings did it in 1945, but lost game seven to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Toronto Maple Leafs in 1942, is the only team to have lost the first three games in the final and won the cup.
The last time the Edmonton Oilers made it to the Stanley Cup final was in 2006 where they lost to Carolina in game seven. We went to every home playoff game back then. we are better off financially now, but we cannot even afford to go to one game. prices have just gone crazy.
The city of Edmonton was in deep depression last Thursday night when they lost game three. Now that they won game six the city is on an adrenaline high. Coffee sales will be way down in the next few days because there won’t be any need for it with all the adrenaline already going.
Next Tuesday, I’ll probably start back on more political oriented chirps. However, I’m going to be enjoying this ride for the next couple days.
