The other day, in July, the temperature reached -13 Fahrenheit in the Antarctic. Now that might not sound very special but July in the Antarctic is midwinter. Usually the temperatures at this time of year range from -58 to -70 Fahrenheit. These temperatures are 50° above normal and they have been happening with increasing frequency lately. there is an increasing milk rate in the Antarctic with temperature increasing at a rate three times higher than elsewhere. A similar occurrence is happening in the Arctic. A major meltdown in the Antarctic could cause sea level increases measured in feet rather than inches. There’s one other major concern. This could affect ocean currents, including the golf Mexico stream that goes up to Europe. A shift in the current could see northern Europe experiencing a much harsher climate. For example, where Britain has relatively mild temperatures in the winter now, a shift in the current could see them experiencing the same climate that northern Alberta experiences
This is my trip for the day. back to more political stuff tomorrow.
