Close to three years ago, the Russian incursion into Ukraine, officially started. It had started long before that with incursions into eastern Ukraine, and with Russian backed guerilla fighters attacking Eastern Ukrainian villages. It is now 1000 days later, into what Putin anticipated was going to be a three day incursion and take over.

The West, led by Joe Biden, upped the ante by getting together and providing weapons, mostly defensive at first, to Ukraine, and by launching a number of sanctions against Russia. They also kicked Russia out of international sport competitions. Russia upped the ante by getting weapons from countries, such as China. The west up the ante by providing offensive weapons to Ukraine, eventually providing fighter jets. Ukraine, upped the ante by sending drones into Russia, including Moscow, and then by launching incursions into Western Russia, taking control of some villages.

Russia subsequently upped the ante By having North Korea and the conflict with up to 10,000 North Korean troops at the border between Russia and Ukraine and involved in the fighting.

Then Joe Biden did what could almost be seen as an f u to Donald Trump. Trump in negotiating with the Taliban released 5000 prisoners and guaranteed that the US would be leaving Afghanistan by early 2021. this was an impossible deadline to comply with. US troops under Biden pulled out in August 2021 at the cost of 13 US armed forces, personnel, and billions of dollars of US military inventory left behind.

Biden’s f u was to give Ukraine permission to use long range missiles into Russia. This upped the ante considerably. Biden is also sending over hundreds of millions if not billions worth of new military weapons to Ukraine before the Trump takeover. Russia, then upped the ante by using missiles, capable of having nuclear weapons on them, into Ukraine. Russia has also reclassified, read that downgraded, instances where they would consider using nuclear weapons.

Because of the Trump clown show happening in the US, this escalation is not getting as much AirPlay as it should. Putin is Trump‘s friend. Putin is not going to back down. I honestly don’t know where this is going to go.
