Pierre, Who Cares

Pierre Poilievre weighed in on the tariff war, this week, on a CBC interview

“The challenge with a unilateral, self-imposed deadline is that it tells the counterparty that they have you on a clock — a clock that only applies to you.”

“I personally think it would have been better not to show that up front to the Americans because we know that President Trump will try to take advantage of it.”

First of all, Pierre, it was Trump who set an August 1 date for his new round of tariffs on Canada. It was originally July 21. Mark Carney, just reacted to Trump’s new date. When Trump changes the date from August 1, would he likely will, Mark Carney will adjust the deadline again. There’s no such thing as being set in stone when dealing with the orange buffoon.

Second of all, Pierre, you are not even the opposition leader right now. You are the party leader, but until you get elected in an Alberta riding in August, you will not be the opposition leader. You’re standing in your own party is on fairly thin ground right now. There’s a good possibility that you won’t get the same number of votes that Damien Kurek received. Kurek resigned his seat in the riding of Battle River-Crowfoot to allow you to run.

This riding is one of the safest seats around for you to run in. Your focus should be on winning this seat so you can become opposition leader again.

That’s all I have for today. Have a good weekend, all.
