A British band, called. Sweet, released the song. ‘Little Willy’, in the UK in 1972. The song was released in the US in 1973 and went as high aa number three in the Billboard charts. It ended up as the 18th top song in 1973. The following is part of the lyrics to that song.
Little Willy, Willy won’t go home
Little Willy, Willy won’t go home
But you can’t push Willy round
Willy won’t go, try tellin’ everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won’t go home
As you all know, a cease-fire has been put in place in the Israeli/Gaza conflict. This is all based on Donald Trump’s 20 point peace plan. It was assumed by almost everybody that Hamas was done for. It was assumed that Hamas would have no role in the future of Gaza. Seems nobody told Hamas this.
As soon as Israel, pulled out of a major portion of Gaza, Hamas regained control of the streets. Hamas, taking a page from the ICE playbook, began black-masked armed street patrols. Furthermore, one unidentified witness noted the following.
“Intense clashes broke out — and are still ongoing at the moment — as part of efforts to eliminate collaborators.”
There are running street battles between Hamas and those, in Gaza, who oppose Hamas. Those who oppose Hamas blame them for the destruction of Gaza by attacking Israel on October 7. Hamas was voted in by the citizens of Gaza to run the government a number of years back. There are many in Gaza, who still support Hamas.
“After the war ended and the police spread out in the streets, we started to feel safe,”
“They began organising traffic and clearing the markets, removing the street vendors who were blocking the roads. We felt protected from thugs and thieves.”
Yes, there is a ceasefire in place. but sooner or later, troops from countries, yet to be identified will be entering Gaza to keep the peace during the reconstruction process. How will Hamas respond to this? Nothing is clear at this moment, but it won’t be easy and more blood will be shred.
That’s all I have for today.
