Tucker And Friend

Not so long ago, Tucker Carlson was the darling of the Republican Party. His show on Fox entertainment, also known as Fox News, was the number one show on cable. He got booted off Fox News and ended up having his own podcast which was still pretty popular among Republican base. Now he is poison, and there’s a civil war, rather an un civil war, raging within the Republican ranks.

Tucker, last week, for some reason, only known to him, had an interview with Nick Fuentes. Fuentes is a white nationalist, a holocaust denier, and an admirer of both Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler. The interview with Fuentes was an extremely friendly interview. There’s no other way to put it.

Part of the interview, focussed on the mockery of Christians, supporting Israel, and the Jewish state. The Republican base is basically Christian and are supportive of Israel. There has been strong pushback by Republicans, including podcasters, such as Ben Shapiro, over the interview

Kevin Roberts, President of the influential right wing think tank, the Heritage Foundation, defended Carlson

“Christians can critique the state of Israel without being antisemitic.”

The pushback against Roberts was immediate and harsh, and it included resignations within his organization. He has since apologized for making the above statement and for supporting the interview overall. but the apology might be a little too late for the organization. One senior staff member put it this way.

“It’s an absolute shitshow, he’s lost control of the organization. It is open rebellion, it is disgust … 85% are totally disgusted.”

This latest Republican embarrassment, comes on the heels of text messages between senior members of the Young Republicans groups demeaning Blacks and expressing support for Hitler.

This is another headache for Trump in a week full of headaches. The Republican brand is being soiled by all of this. This was evident on Tuesday night with the election results. Trump will endure another headache today with the cut backs on flights in the US. More on that tomorrow, if nothing else happens in the meantime.

That’s all I have today.
