Deported

A church, in a Boston suburb, has the above nativity scene, on display. To say that the right is up in arms is an understatement. There is also a second church, in Indiana, which has the baby Jesus, in a nativity scene, with zip ties on his hands.

Fathers Stephen Josoma, of St. Susanna’s church, explained why he put up the display.

“It’s supposed to affect people deeply, it’s supposed to move people, it’s supposed to change people, so, if this evokes a strong reaction, it’s maybe good to take a look at that.”

Surprisingly, (sarcasm) Acting ICE Director, Todd Lyons, does not see it that way.

“The actions of the activist reverend, Stephen Josoma, are absolutely abhorrent and add to a dangerous narrative responsible for a more than 1,150% increase in assaults on ICE officers,”

No idea where the 1150% increase comes from. Probably, from Trump, who also says that he has brought down pharmaceutical prices by 700%.

The Trump administration keeps putting out the message that these ICE raids are only focussing on known criminals. Documented data gathered by the CATO Institute shows that as of June, of this year,of 200,000 people detained, 75% percent had no criminal convictions and only 7% had violent crime convictions. The numbers just don’t add up.

What Fathers Josoma did is blatantly political. But, then again, in the early years of Christianity, how many Saints were martyred because they were preaching ideas that were against the government, in power, at the time.

That is all I have for today.
