if you look on social media, as I do, you will see that the separatist posts are getting angrier each day. This might be because of the declining polling numbers.

The western standard, a heavily right wing operation had a poll, under May, ju showing 45% of Albertans, supported separation. However, polling taken in June and July show the level of support at around 20%.

There is more bad news for the separatists. The Republican Party of Alberta formed just a couple years ago had no donations for 2024. In the first part of 2025 they had $190,000 in donations. An amazing upsurge. It came out that the hundred $190,000 came from only 50 donators, with at least four of them being from out of province and donating more than $5000. Both of these violate elections Alberta rules where donations have to come from within province and cannot be any higher than $5000.

The separatists are the same group that went to the United States seeking funding totalling 500 billion billion dollars dollars from the Trump administration to fund startup costs for the country of Alberta. Alberta, separated from Canada would be a perfect target for Trump as a 51st state. Alberta oil would become Trump oil.

Referendum day is October 19. The separatist are hoping for a low turnout to aid their cause. With 10 questions on the ballot, lineups will be long. Albertans should take advantage of the special ballot mail in opportunities provided by elections of Alberta. To all Canadian loving Albertans make sure to vote.
