Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80. She was a terrific songstress and songwriter. The two songs I most associate with her is Jolene, which she sang, and I will always love you which she wrote and was made famous by Whitney Houston in the movie, The Bodyguard. She was also a terrific actress, as evidenced in the movie 9 to 5.

She was a philanthropist donating millions upon millions in charities. As proof of how she crossed divides, Donald Trump is lowering flags to half mast in honour of her. To me that says something.
