The US is less than five weeks away from the midterms. Inflation is on the rise, gas prices, including diesel gas, are at a ridiculous level, the Iran war continues and the Republican Senate, yesterday, was once again trying to re-litigate the 2020 election

Jack Smith was centre stage, appearing in public. The Republicans looked bad right from the start. Chuck Grassley, the 80 year-old plus republican senator from Iowa stumbled through his opening comments. John Kennedy, the Republican senator from Louisiana, then tried to play his game of gotcha with Smith and failed miserably.

But the highlight of the day was Eric Schmitt, Republican senator from Missouri, who literally crashed and burned in front of America. He thought he had the goods on Smith. Asking him whether Smith was at a basketball game in Atlanta on February 3, 2024. The state of Georgia was where Fani Willis was running her own investigation on Donald Trump. Schmitt was hoping to show that Jack Smith was colluding with Willis. His proof was that Smith was at an Atlanta Hawks game on February 3, 2024.

Smith said he did not recall being at the game. Smith said he did not recall being in Atlanta. Schmitt, with a big smile on his face accused Smith of just committing perjury. He then showed a board that showed emails of Smith getting seats for the game. GOTCGHA!!

Well, Democrat senator, Amy Klobuchar, from Minnesota, was next to question Jack Smith. During her 10 minutes she followed up with Smith on the date in question. It was true. Jack Smith was at a Hawks basketball game. However, it was not at an Atlanta Hawks basketball game. It was at an Iowa Hawkeyes basketball game. Led by their superstar Caitlin Clark, they were playing against the Maryland terrapins, that night in Maryland.

Before Schmitt was a senator, he was a lawyer. He forgot the one cardinal rule of being a lawyer. When you are questioning a witness, make sure that you already know the answer.
