Ted (when my state is freezing I go to Cancun) Cruz sent out the obligatory Republican “thoughts and prayers” tweet just hours after the Uvalde gun massacre. He also tweeted that politicians and the media are politicizing this, in order to “…try and restrict the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.” Cruz was parroting the old Republical line that discussions on gun control should not be held right after such an emotional event.

Cruz is dead wrong. Now is the time. Especially when horrific descriptions of the event is etched in the minds of Americans. No more lip service.
