News A Fox Casualty

CNN had a news show called “Reliable Sources” It ran from 1992 to 2022. It was a Sunday morning show and it was a news show that reported on the news being reported, for the week. Kurtz hosted the show for 15 years, before going to Fox Propaganda in 2013, to host “MediaBuzz”. “MediaBuzz” was on at the same time slot as “Reliable Sources” and had a similar theme, reporting on the news being reported, only with a Fox reporting perception.

The $1.6 Billion lawsuit by Dominion, against Fox, and the ensuing scandal is, currently, big news. Kurtz wanted to cover this scandal on his show, last Sunday He couldn’t. He was told he couldn’t.

“Some of you have been asking why I’m not covering the Dominion voting machines lawsuit against Fox involving the unproven claims of election fraud in 2020, and it’s absolutely a fair question, I believe I should be covering it. It’s a major media story, given my role here at Fox. But the company has decided that as part of the organization being sued, I can’t talk about it or write about it, at least for now.”

What does Kurtz think about being muzzled?

“I strongly disagree with that decision, but as an employee, I have to abide by it. And if that changes, I’ll let you know.”

Fox, for the last few weeks, has been ignoring the whole thing. When the January 6 hearings were carried on prime time Every network carried the hearings, except for Fox News. Fox Business, which has a total audience of about 7, did carry it. But not the mother news ship.

Sooner or later, Fox will have to address the 800 pound gorilla in the news room. Pervereting a line from the movie “A Few Good Men”, Fox is telling its audience.

“You don’t want the truth, we can’t handle giving you the truth”
