Attribution to Sister Circle TV

A new phrase has come to existence, lately, that being ‘review bombing’. The woman above is Halle Bailey. She is the newest Little Mermaid. She is also Black.

The Little Mermaid, 2023 version, has been a box office success, already raking in international sales of over 250 million dollars. The Rotten Tomatoes score for this movie is 95%. The IMDb rating for this movie is 7 out of 10. In posting this rating IMDb attached the following warning.

“Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title. To preserve the reliability of our rating system, an alternate weighting calculation has been applied.”

Both sites have been ‘bombed’ with one star ratings by bigots who have not even seen the movie. Claire Whitley, a PHD candidate in Screen and Media at Flinders University explained this phenomena as follows,

“It is generally something that people do, not because they want to meaningfully engage or critique media, but because they feel that there is some ideological or cultural message that’s being forced upon them.” 

This is just pathetic. Most of these people do not realize that Jesus was brown-skinned. Get a freaking life.
