So many stories to comment on this morning. All of them makes me question the survival of the human race.
During a congressional oversight committee meeting, Marjorie Taylor Greene made an insulting comment to another congresswoman about her eyelashes. Things degenerated from there. Chairman James Comer lost total control of the meeting. Greene’s comments were stricken from the record, but she refused to apologize. It is must see television.
Regarding the hush money trial, the question of the day involves a short telephone call between Trump and Cohen. what is the call about Trump approving payment to Stormy Daniels or was it about a 14 year year-old harassing Michael Cohen? The entire result of the trial might hinge on this.
A five-year-old child in Ontario died of measles. The child was unvaccinated. The last time someone died of measles in Ontario was more than 25 years ago. Measles was pretty well eradicated due to vaccinations. It is making a comeback because vaccination rates for children are decreasing. Just stunning. I have a few choice words for anti-vaccers, but I would just leave it there.
The world’s number one golfer, Scotty Scheffler, was arrested this morning while trying to get on the golf course due to an apparent misunderstanding between him and the police officer. You can’t make this up.
Finally, for the women that follow this blog, there is uproar over comments made by the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs at a graduation ceremony. Rather than commenting on it, I will just quote a couple statements that the kicker made. Your blood pressure might shoot up.
“I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.”
“How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
Then he said that his wife,
“would be the first to say her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
Tomorrow, provided no additional stupidity today, the trip will be about a US Supreme Court judge to hung the US flag upside down.
