Hockey Town

The city of Edmonton and fans of the Edmonton Oilers throughout the planet have been a bit bipolar of late. The Edmonton Oilers are in the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in 18 years. Last Thursday they fell to three games to none against the Florida Panthers. Oilers fans were in deep depression. The Florida goalie was like a brick wall and everything Edmonton did not break the brick wall. Then came game four on Saturday night. Connor McDavid was on fire. He contributed four points and let the Oilers to an 8 to 1 victory. Then came game five back in Florida. The Oilers won again. This time buy a score of 5 to 3. the Florida goalie is now looking more like a sieve than a brick wall. Game six is back in Edmonton on Friday night. And where oiler fans were deep depression just a few days back, they are now on the highest of highs.

there is a lot going on in the world right now. Lauren Boebert is set to lose her primary next week. there will be a presidential debate next Thursday, provided Trump shows up or provided he doesn’t forget to go. On a personal level, I’m having a pacemaker inserted next Tuesday. But for a little while oiler fans throughout the planet, and the city of Edmonton will be focussing their lives on the Edmonton Oilers and on the greatest hockey player currently on the planet Connor McDavid in hopes of winning the Stanley Cup.
