If you follow Twitter (x) you have most likely seen, in the past couple of days, a post alleging Donald Trump raping a 13-year-old girl. This post has gone viral with over 17 million hits and being shared over 34,000 times. Twitter followers are claiming a double standard here. They are complaining that all the media focus is on Joe Biden’s debate stumble and it should be focussed on the alleged rape.

This all started on Monday of this week, when 150 pages, of transcript, of a 2006 grand jury investigation on Jeffrey Epstein was released. Epstein, eventually was sentenced, in 2008, to 18 months in jail. Transcripts, relating to a 2015 lawsuit, had previously been released in January of this year . Transcripts included names, such as Donald Trump and Prince Andrew.

The viral post, of Monday of this week, had nothing to do with either of these transcripts. The post relates to a lawsuit, in April 2016, where Epstein and Trump were identified as defendants. The plaintiff, Katie Johnson alleged that she was held as a sex slave, back in 1994 when she was only 13 years old, and was forced to perform sex acts. A judge related to the case dropped the lawsuit in May of that year. Two more lawsuits were filed in June and September with the September lawsuit, alleging that Trump raped the plaintiff. Both those lawsuits were dropped by the plaintiff.

Trump’s accuser was set to hold a news conference, in November 2016. She backed off at the last moment claiming she had been receiving death threats. She has not been heard from since.

As mentioned, the post has gone viral since Monday. While these lawsuits occurred eight years ago, many who have read the text, believe it is a current event and they are demanding an investigation. There is an old adage where there is smoke there is fire. Trump has been accused by many women of sexual abuse. Even though this story is eight years old, would it hurt to follow up on it?
