This is Viktor Orban. he is a Putin ally. He is the Prime Minister of Hungary. He is also the current president of the European Union, a position that is rotated on a periodic basis between EU countries.

He has declared that he is on a peace mission relating to the invasion of Ukraine. Without consulting his EU partners he has gone to Kyiv, Moscow, and Beijing. this week he went to the NATO summit in Washington DC. However, his only interaction with Biden was a brief handshake. A bilateral meeting was requested by the White House with Orban, but Orban refused. However, after snubbing Biden, he did go down to Florida to meet with Donald Trump.

if I was Ukraine right now, I would be plenty worried about these events. To meet with Putin and Russia’s ally, China, and then with Putin fanboy, Trump, it is easy to see where this might be going. this is one more big reason for the Democrats to find their way out of this mess with Biden and beat Trump in November.
