There is increasing pressure for Joe Biden to have someone else run for president in November. We are now up to four senators and the number of congressman calling for Biden to drop out. It is said that there is a growing consensus to rally around Kamala Harris as the Democrat presidential candidate.

I think that would be a mistake. There are other potential candidates out there. In this divided country, Kamala Harris has two things going against her. She is Black and she is a woman.That is a sad statement to make in itself. Unfortunately, it’s a reality. Furthermore, right wing media has brutalized Harris. Look who America elected as president in 2016. This followed eight years of a Black President and the opposition being a woman candidate. There is no way that Trump should’ve won, but he did. Look at the current unofficial Republican platform. That would be project 2025, which is anti-woman anti-black.

There are other potential candidates out there such as Pete Buttigieg and Gavin Newsom, The issue for Buttigieg, sadly, but a reality in this current America is his sexual orientation. Regardless, if Biden is to drop out of the race, he should set free all the delegates he won in the primaries and allow them to vote whoever they want as presidential candidate. It should be an open convention. That, in itself, would draw tremendous ratings. That would boost, whoever wins, their polling numbers.

First of all, Biden has to withdraw. While it looks like it will happen, it’s not a given.
