In the last couple of weeks, the Trump campaign has gone kablooey. First, there was the disastrous selection of JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate. then there was Joe Biden‘s stepping down for Kamala Harris decision. The Trump campaign has been floundering, ever since, as to how to attack Harris, and has not been successful in doing so, thus far. One quick example is the immigration issue where Harris has thrown back. The fact that Trump killed an immigration compromise earlier this year.
But Trump committed his biggest blunder yesterday when he met with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). The questions put him on the defensive and he began attacking the panel. Then he attacked Harris in the most obnoxious way possible given the setting he was in.
“I’ve known her a long time, indirectly, not directly very much, and she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black?”
that one statement alone within a number of statements made in a contentious gathering, likely cost Trump countless numbers of votes. Trump, being Trump, is incapable of backing down, from such a statement. he has since doubled down on this statement alone on his floundering Truth Social account and on a rally Wednesday night.
The Democrats will play right into his Trumpism. They will exploit it as much as they will and should. Teflon Don is seeming to lose his teflon. This is a new thing for Trump. Statements that he is making sticking to him. Furthermore, the team of Trump and Vance is turning toxic. Trump did not have this toxicity when Pence was his running mate. Then again Trump supporters wanted to hang Pence, but that’s another story.
The media seems to have turned on Trump the way they did on Biden in the last few days of his campaign. What a change from three weeks ago. The world is upside down for Trump. Personally, I am loving it.
