Donald Trump had been scheduled to debate Joe Biden in September on ABC. Once Biden was replaced by Kamala Harris, Trump started making noises that he would not debate Harris. Trump has now agreed to debate Harris on Fox News on September 4 with Brett Baier and Martha McCallum serving as moderators. Trump is also indicated that he will no longer participate in the ABC debate.

What should Harris do? Should she participate in the Fox debate? Harris has been skyrocketing in the polls. The Democrat convention is still a couple weeks away. As is usual, following conventions, the nominated candidate gets a bump in the polls. Harris will most likely get one. Perhaps Harris should hold off on any decision on the Fox debate until after the convention. She should even hint that she is not inclined to participate. It is most likely that, following the convention, Trump will be desperate to debate with her. Harris should remain firm that she will participate in the ABC debate, but not the Fox debate.

 That is my take anyway.
