
Section 60 of the Arlington national cemetery in Virginia is reserved for those who lost their lives, in the service of their country, in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are rules in place that no political activities can be carried out on hallowed ground.
Donald Trump has called those who fought in wars and died in wars, losers and suckers. He called John McCain, a loser for being a prisoner of war for five years. He has insulted Goldstar families, families who have lost a child while serving their country.
He had a photo op, on Monday, to supposedly commemorate the loss of 13 American service members who lost their lives during the evacuation of Afghanistan. This was the third anniversary of that event. He did no such thing on the first year and the second year, but he chose to do so this year, an election year.
There was a physical altercation, while Trump was doing his political photo op, as a cemetery worker tried to prevent the rules being broken. The worker decided not to press charges for being physically attacked, while just carrying out his duties.
Trump has tried to blame Biden for the missteps in the evacuation of Afghanistan. Even though it was Trump who negotiated withdrawal for an earlier date which was impossible to do. As part of the negotiation, Trump released 5000 Taliban prisoners, one of those prisoners is now the head of the Taliban.
Trump has been on Truth Social, all week, trying to defend the indefensible. One last thing. if you look at Trump in the image above at this solemn event, he’s giving a thumbs up. Now, who does that?
