Only two and a half months ago, on June 28, the day after the Biden Trump debate, the Democrats were in deep depression. Biden looked old and Trump was riding high. My, how things have changed.
Kamala Harris started very slow last night. She kind of botched the first question about tariffs. Trump kept saying that Americans would not pay on tariffs applied to other countries. Of course the cost of the tariff would be passed on to the American consumer.
After that, though, it was all Kamala. Kamala kept getting Trump’s goat for the rest of the evening while she remained presidential. Trump started losing it when Kamala mentioned people walking out on Trump rallies. Trump ended up talking about cats and dogs being eaten. Probably 80% of the viewing public had no idea what he was talking about. When the moderators cut in and said that the city manager indicated that no cats and dogs have been eaten. Trump said that he saw it on TV. Kamala kept talking about a bright and optimistic future as compared to Trump’s dark America. Trump talked about babies being aborted after birth. The moderators had to come in and say that does not happen. Trump became president in 2016. Back then Trump said that he would have a health plan in place in two weeks. Eight years later when asked whether he has a health plan, he said he has different concepts. Trump said he defended Obamacare when he was an office. Total lie. He tried to get it defeated over 60 times. We all remembered John McCain and the thumbs down.
I could go on and on. Trump thought he was talking to a Fox News audience. He was not. It showed.
Even though Harris has been part of an administration for the last four years, she came out as the agent of change. Harris was the one who kept saying that Trump was playing from the same old tired playbook. Essentially, Harris did to Trump, what Trump did to Biden in the first debate.
All one had to do was watch the split screen last night. There was Trump, scowling, squinting, flushed, and very angry looking, and then there was Kamala, relaxed, smiling, and often times looking pityingly, at Trump.
From the Democrat viewpoint, as Trump would say, last night was a beautiful thing.
