Scary

My chirp yesterday revolved around a song going viral on the Internet, mocking Donald Trump‘s ‘ eating the dogs and cats’ comment made during last Tuesday’s debate. In many respects, he has turned into a joke and deserves to be mocked. But at the same time, this has dangerous ramifications. JD Vance yesterday pretty well admitted that the dogs and cats claim was a fabrication. Even so, team Trump have not backed down on the fabrication. Facilities in Springfield have had to close down because of bomb threats. Immigrants, legal immigrants at that, have been and continue to be threatened, in Springfield.

Trump may be treated as a joke, but he has also become a target of hate. Yesterday afternoon there was a second attempt at Trump’s life, in the past month. I did not watch any of the drama unfold as I was watching football games. I’m not watching cable news this morning because I know it will be a rehash of yesterday afternoon. This time apparently the only shots fired were by the Secret Service. While the last time, the shooter was a Republican, this time the shooter has supported both parties.

A lot of this, Trump has brought upon himself, with his campaign of divisiveness and hatred. That being said America is entering uncharted territory. Two assassination attempts during election campaign in America. You might see this in Third World countries, but now you are seeing it in the States.

I wonder what Donald Trump is thinking this morning. Supposedly, right after the attempt, Trump launched another fundraising campaign because of the attempt. I wonder if he’s going to be golfing anymore.

If I were Kamala Harris, I would be worried also. Given the number of guns in the states and the number of right wing nuts, she could be next on the list. I am sure both candidates when making speeches from now will be protected by transparent shielding.

This is what America has become.
