The last 10 years have been the hottest years in recorded history. Yet climate changed deniers still exist.
Damages, in the LA fires, have already totalled $20 billion. This figure will go up given that the fires are mostly still not under control. Climate change deniers claim that it is too expensive to address the issue, if there is an issue (covering themselves). Given the $20 billion cost so far it is more expensive, not to address the issue.
Do you know what industry does not have climate change deniers? The insurance industry. Given the ravages of the recent hurricanes, in Florida, home insurance, premiums, for homeowners, have skyrocketed. Thousands of homeowners, in Southern California, cannot even get house insurance anymore because they are deemed to live, according to the insurance industry, in high fire potential zones. What that means is that thousands of homeowners lost their homes and had no insurance. The insurance industry used to determine their premiums based on past history. They are now adding the criteria of future potential loss. What they are doing is accounting for climate change in their determinations.
This will get worse. As weather warms up along the west coast, fires, such as the current one in LA,will head up north into Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia as an all season event. It is already happening as a spring, summer, fall event.
all I got for today.
