After the hearing, yesterday, Trump is officially a felon. What does being a felon mean, for Trump?
Trump will have felonies on his criminal record
Trump is registered to vote in Florida. Florida does bar convicted felons from voting. However, felons can vote once their sentence is completed. Since Trump received an unconditional discharge, his sentence is considered to be completed.
Trump cannot own a gun.
Trump has to submit a DNA sample for New York State criminal record base. The New York data bank has profiles of 720,000 offenders. Trump now joins that data bank.
Trump will have a diplomatic passport. This will allow him to visit foreign countries. Some countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom have the right to prohibit Trump from entering their country. It is highly unlikely that these countries will do so.
The felonies, committed in this case, were state crimes. The only person who can pardon Trump for the crimes committed is the governor of New York. It is highly unlikely that this will happen.
Bottom line, Donald Trump is the first US president to be a felon
All I have for today.
