Change Or Die

There is internal bickering within the Pierre Poilievre (PP) campaign over the direction that the campaign is taking. This has to do with both PP and his campaign manager Jenni Byrne. Byrne was, at one time, campaign manager for Stephen Harper, as well as campaign manager for Doug Ford. The complaints are focussing on PP’s overuse of slogans and a lack of focus on Donald Trump.

Kory Teneycke, Doug Ford’s campaign manager stated this, in PP’s need to focus more on Trump and the need to do something with Jenni Byrne,

“I got tons of messages from people who, in many cases very senior and very close to these guys, who agreed 100 per cent with what I said. Unless something changes fast, I suspect she will be dumped.”

The following are quotes from a number of campaign sources who want, desperately, for PP to win.

“Everyone wants them to win, actually genuinely. (Conservatives) don’t want the Liberals to win, even people that don’t like Pierre in different parts of the party.”

This one source added, however,

“But it’s like they’re in their own way. They’re not willing to do the things they need to do to win … And they’re still sh-tting on the Ontario PCs, and it’s like, I’m sorry, these people won a majority a month ago. They might have something to tell you.”

Another source added,

“The overconfidence, arrogance and meanness of the Poilievre group has really started to hurt them a little bit.”

And from yet another source,

“I can’t think of a Conservative campaign that’s seen the wheels come off so fast and so hard and so early. (Thursday was) Day Four, and everyone is already running around with their hair on fire.”

Going back to Tenycke,

“You either react to (Trump) or you’re going to get drowned.

All this is happening, at a time where a conservative lead that was once over 20 percent is now in negative territory from anywhere between one percent and 5 percent depending on the various polls.

All I have for today.
