Pierre Poilievre (PP) is accusing Mark Carney of hiding from the campaign.

“Mark Carney is in hiding today and yesterday.”

“He doesn’t want to answer for the lost Liberal decade. He wants Canadians to forget that housing costs have doubled, that young people, for the first time in history, can’t afford a place to live in Canada.”

This is slightly hypocritical. This is from a man who will not allow reporters on his campaign bus or plane. Also, when he is having press conferences, he is favouring local reporters given his claim that he wants to know what the local issues are. This restriction on reporters is similar to the ones imposed by Trump where he is saturating his press conferences with media outlets that are mainly supportive of Trump.

carney took Friday off the campaign trail to carry out prime ministerial duties in relation to the Trump tariffs. He also did take a personal day off on Saturday.

But on Sunday, Carney will be playing into PP’s strength by appearing on the French talk show ‘Tout le monde en parle’. PP will be appearing on the same show where he will definitely have an advantage given his better command of French.

Carney will also be appearing on the French debate, this Wednesday night.

there are two weeks left in the campaign. PP‘s main hope now is to make inroads in the two debates this week, specifically the French debate. PP has to win the French debate or it is pretty well game over for him.
