There are so many things to unpack with the Trump tariff circus. The latest being the 145% tariff in China and then exempting electronics such as computer, computers and phones. But Trump is saying this is only temporary. Trump also says that he is waiting for a call from Chinese leader Xi Jinping, to start negotiating on the tariff war that he has launched against China

Well, Donald , if you were a student of history, which apparently you were not, you would know that there is no way that Xi will call you first. History will show that China was exploited by a number of countries during colonial times. This included countries such as Britain and the United States. In the 1800s plans were developed for the partitioning of China. For China, this was known as the years of humiliation.

For Xi, to call Trump first, would be an implicit acknowledgement of China’s subservience to the United States. It would cost Xi politically. It just can’t happen. Donald, you will be waiting by the phone for a long time for a phone call that will never happen.
